Privacy Policy

Omnilap is operated by Beta Reduction L.L.C-FZ, a company registered in the Meydan Free Zone, Dubai, United Arab Emirates ("Omnilap", "we", "us"). This policy explains what personal data we collect through the Omnilap desktop app, an Omnilap account and our websites, what we use it for and what you can ask us to do with it.

The short version

• The desktop app works without an account. Your telemetry, laps and setups stay in files on your own computer and are not uploaded to us.
• If you create an account, we store what is needed to sign you in and keep you signed in.
• We do not sell personal data and we do not show advertising.

Data we collect

Account details. When you create an account we store your name, your email address and, if you set one, your password. The password is stored only as a hash, never in readable form.

Sign-in with another service. If you sign in or connect an account with Google, Discord, Apple or iRacing, that service tells us your identifier with them and, as far as it provides them, your name, email address and profile picture. From iRacing we receive your customer ID. We also store the access and refresh tokens the service issues to us, encrypted, so that the connection keeps working. From Google, Discord and Apple we ask only for the permissions needed to identify you. The permission iRacing grants also allows us to request your iRacing member data on your behalf; today we use it only to identify you.

Sessions. While you are signed in we keep a session record holding the time it was created, the time it expires, and the IP address and browser or app identifier (user agent) it was started from. When you sign in from the desktop app we also record that you allowed that app to access your account.

Error reports. When something fails on our servers or in the account website in your browser, an error report is sent to Sentry, our error monitoring provider. The reports describe the fault and the software it happened in. We strip request contents, headers, cookies, query strings and your account identity from them before they are sent. A report sent from your browser or from the desktop app reaches Sentry from your device, so Sentry sees the IP address it came from. Release builds of the desktop app may send crash and error reports as well; file paths are removed from them first, and they do not contain your telemetry.

Website visits. Our public website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It does not use cookies and does not build a profile of you, and it is not loaded for visitors served from Cloudflare's data centres in the European Union. The website also loads its typeface from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google that includes your IP address.

Messages you send us. If you write to us, we keep the message and your contact details for as long as needed to deal with it.

Data that stays on your computer

The desktop app reads the telemetry, replay, lap and setup files that iRacing writes, and keeps its own index and cache of them. All of that is stored on your computer. We do not receive it. If we add features that upload or share this data, they will be opt-in and this policy will be updated before they launch.

What we use it for

• To create your account, sign you in and keep your account secure, which is necessary to provide the service you asked for.
• To find and fix faults and to prevent abuse, which is in our legitimate interest in running a reliable service.
• To understand in aggregate how many people visit our website, which is in our legitimate interest in improving it.
• To comply with the law where it requires us to.

Cookies

When you sign in, we set cookies that are strictly necessary to keep you signed in and to complete a sign-in through another service. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Who else handles your data

We share personal data only with providers that process it on our behalf, and only as far as they need it:

• Cloudflare, which delivers our websites and measures visits to the public one.
• Our infrastructure providers, which host the servers and the database behind accounts.
• Sentry, which receives the error reports described above.
• Google, which serves the typeface on our public website.
• The sign-in service you choose (Google, Discord, Apple or iRacing), which learns that you signed in to Omnilap.

We may also disclose data if the law requires it, or to a successor if Omnilap is reorganised or sold, in which case this policy continues to apply to it.

Where your data is processed

Our providers operate in several countries, so your data may be processed outside the country you live in, including in the United States and the United Arab Emirates. Where the law requires safeguards for such transfers, we rely on the ones it provides for, such as standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

We keep your account data for as long as you have an account. A session stops working when it expires or when you sign out. Signing out deletes its record; the record of an expired session may remain for a time before it is cleaned up. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete the account, its sessions and its connections to other services, apart from anything we are legally required to keep. Error reports are kept for a limited period and then deleted by our provider.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to receive a copy of it, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to complain to your local data protection authority. To use any of these rights, write to privacy@omnilap.com. We may ask you to show that the account is yours before we act, and we will answer within one month.

Children

Omnilap accounts are for people aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone younger. If you believe a child has created an account, tell us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when what we do with personal data changes, and change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will tell account holders by email or in the app before it takes effect.
